WHAT TO EXPECT

Welcome! It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. No matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.

Here's all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are. Although our time will be taken up by singing, teaching and praying, you don't need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: "Come to me" and we say the same. Just come as you are!

Ages: We are a very diverse church with a wide-variety of ages. You'll find a very an active and growing Kids Ministry all the way up to a caring and loving Senior Adult Ministry, and everything in between.

Music: Our Worship Team is led by a talented team of musicians and singers that use a variety of instruments to lead us into worship each week. We sing some songs that are hundreds of years old and some that were written this year. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice, over performed music, which tends to spotlight the abilities of some while encouraging passivity in the rest.

Worship Services: A typical Sunday worship service lasts about an hour. The order of service is designed to allow God's people to respond to Him in song, corporately confess sin, be assured of our pardon, celebrate his cleansing us of our sin, be admonished by his Word, and sent out on mission. The Scriptures are read throughout the service.

Sermons: Preaching at PMPBC is generally expositional, which means we seek to make the point of the text the point of the sermon. Most of the time we are working through a book of the Bible verse by verse, with sermon series alternating between Old Testament and New Testament books. All preaching is driven by the Gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Post-Service: After the service you are invited to respond by talking or praying with one of our pastors. You may also fill out a Connect Card and place it in the offering box. We would love to use that information to get to know you better. The offering box is also where members can place their tithes and offerings, if they are not already giving online.

what about my kids?

Each Sunday, you can check your child into our Kids Ministry. We want your kids to have an awesome time at church too, so we have some dedicated (and gifted) individuals who give their Sundays to pour into your kids. We provide childcare for children age 0-4 during both services.

Here's what a typical Sunday looks like:

Check-in your child in the lobby of the Education Building (the brick building). A child-specific code will then be given for parents to present at check-out. Check-in will include your child’s name as well as information regarding specific allergies. From there you will walk them to their age-specific classroom. When you return at the end of service you will check-out your child with the code you received upon check-in.
